A beautiful embassy

Hidden from view and certainly from the majority of the American people is the world’s largest, most expensive and most heavily fortified embassy in history. Right in the middle of prime real estate in Baghdad. It will open in September at a cost of half a billion dollars. You thought that Uncle Sam was leaving within a year or two? Think again.

Of course, it puts to bed the lie that the US was in Iraq to “promote democracy.” As Linda McQuaid so aptly put it, “It’s the crude, dude.”

The embassy will be command central for the control of oil in the region. It will be hermetically sealed and like a piece of Disneyworld for the servants of empire. All this at a time when 2 million Iraqis are refugees.Surreal is not the word for this. America of course is a can-do nation—theatre, pools, school for the army brats. Nothing but state of the art for the tribunes of empire.

The suffering unleashed by the Bush regime has been second probably only to the damage done to Vietnam and by proxy, to the Palestinian people.

But the leaders go first cabin.

Sadam was a reprobate in the 80’s. Remember Rumsfeld, in Iraq as an emissary of Reagan? Something to do with facilitating aspects/materials for WMD for Sadam’s use against Iran, wasn’t it?

    1. Embassy (Fortress city) to be opened soon. 2. Moves to privatise Iraqi oil. 3. Isn’t Iraq, what, 2nd or 3rd in reserves in the world? 4. Did not Israel get its nuclear weapons when there was the Shah in Iran and Apartheid ensconced in South Africa? Was not the eradication such weapons from South Africa coincident with the demise of that atrocious system? [Was this different strokes for different folks?] Wasn’t it in the cards for Iran to have such weapons, pre 1979, when the Shah was still in power? [Remember Mossadegh 1953?] Now, of course, Iran should not even have the knowledge for obtaining nuclear weapons, while the empire should pursue its policy, for maintaining dominance, of, for instance, nuclearizing space [what was that, different strokes for different folks?] Who, pray tell, has dropped nuclear weapons? This particular empire has been around, what, 230+ years? Iran is how old —- how many millennia? When last has Iran initiated a war of choice under false pretenses, half way round the world, in an essentially not understood cultural context, unprepared for occupation, if the liberation of the people and facilitating their desire for democracy was the objective.

This always was about oil and Israel. As always, there were the, in this case Iraqi, “leaders”, particularly in exile, with stars of fame, fortune and power shining in their eyes. All else is subterfuge.
